At Buky Smart Stories, we take our users' privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.

Buky Smart Stories does not require creating an account or logging in. We do not collect your real name, email address, or any personally identifiable information directly through the app.
The children's profiles you create in the app (nickname, age, gender, personality traits) are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to our servers or third parties, except in the context of story generation described below.
When you generate a personalized story, the entered information (child's characteristics, story preferences) is sent to OpenAI and/or Anthropic (Claude) servers to generate the content. These providers have their own privacy policies.
We recommend not including sensitive personal information or real identifying data when creating profiles or requesting stories.

This data helps us improve the app experience. It is not used to personally identify you.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple App Store, with RevenueCat as the subscription management layer. We receive anonymized information about the subscription status (active, cancelled, in trial), but we do not have access to your payment data or credit card information.
Buky Smart Stories is designed to be used by adults. We do not intentionally collect personal data from minors. Children's profiles created in the app remain on the parent's device and are not accessible to us.
If you are a parent and believe your child has provided personal information through the app in a way not covered by this policy, contact us at feedback@bukysmartstories.com and we will take immediate action.
Analytics data and texts sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, and Mixpanel may be processed on servers located outside Uruguay, including the United States. In those cases, said providers apply data protection mechanisms in accordance with their legislation and internal policies.

European users (GDPR): if you reside in the European Economic Area, you have the additional right to file a complaint with your country's data protection authority.
California users (CCPA): if you reside in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion.
We take reasonable measures to protect information transmitted through the app. However, no internet data transmission system is 100% secure. Local storage on the device is subject to the security measures of the iOS operating system itself.
Analytics data collected by Firebase and Mixpanel is retained according to each platform's retention policies. We do not store generated stories on our own servers. Subscription data is retained while the account is active and for as long as necessary to fulfill legal or accounting obligations.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via a notice in the App Store. The "Last updated" date at the top of the document will always reflect the current version.
