Buky is designed for the bedtime routine: a new story built around your child's name and interests, to read together in bed — and, whenever you need it, with a narrated version you can play with the screen off. Many families use it as the last step before sleep. And if something is hard for them, like sleeping alone or fear of the dark, you can create a story specifically about it.

The app is designed for parents or responsible adults to use. They create and personalize each story; children enjoy the result, either by listening to it or reading it, but they don't interact directly with the app.

Yes. Every story is generated following strict guidelines to make sure the content is age-appropriate, positive, and free of inappropriate themes. Each story is designed to nurture empathy, resilience, and self-awareness.

Every user can create up to 10 free stories per month. Once you've used them, you can subscribe to keep creating new stories every night.

No. The name, age, and interests you enter are only used to personalize your child's story at the moment it's generated. They're never shared or used for any other purpose.

When creating a single story, you can configure: who the story is for, where it takes place, and the main characters — you can add a person (a family member, like a sibling, aunt/uncle, or niece/nephew; someone close, like a teacher, doctor, or babysitter; or a profession, like a soccer player, pop star, or singer). You can also choose the story's focus: a story with a moral (for example, that being kind to those who are different makes us stronger), working through a specific emotional situation (like fear, frustration, sleeping alone, or missing someone), or teaching a lesson about a value like respect or empathy.

Buky's series aren't predefined stories — they're a set of stories that guide a child through a specific emotional situation. After you configure the story (who it's for, where it takes place, the main characters, and a person — a family member, someone related, or a profession), the situation unfolds across 3 parts: the first helps the child identify what they're feeling, the second helps them understand why they feel it, and the third helps them overcome it with practical tools. Some example series are "Getting ready for a big brother" or "First day in a new place".

You can rate any story with a thumbs up or thumbs down at the end of each one. You can also send us feedback directly from the app — all of that helps us keep improving the quality of the stories.

Yes. Every story you create automatically comes with a narrated audio version, so you can listen to it as an audiobook anytime — perfect for the bedtime routine or to play in the car, helping kids enjoy the ride.

Yes. Every story is saved forever in the app, along with its audio, so you can listen to it or read it again whenever you want.

Buky Smart Stories is available in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Hebrew. You can change the app and story language at any time.

Yes, you can cancel it at any time from your Apple ID account settings, with no commitment or penalty.
